This year, I'm celebrating Spocktober with the release of Spockology: Essays on Spock and Leonard Nimoy From The Undiscovered Country Project and Friends! This book features all the Spocktober guest blog posts from the old UCP blog from 2011 to 2014, plus lots of brand new material. Essays include the nerdy, the philosophical, the theological and the personal. It's my small tribute to the life and legacy of Leonard Nimoy.

COPD: Highly Illogical

PLUS, during Spocktober 2015, a portion of the proceeds from sales of Spockology will be donated to COPD: Highly Illogical - A Special Tribute to Leonard Nimoy. This new documentary film is being produced by Julie Nimoy (Leonard's daughter) and her husband, David Knight, in conjunction with the COPD Foundation to draw attention to COPD and the long-term effects of smoking. Mr. Nimoy died this past February from the condition, even though he had quit smoking 30 years prior.

Finally, I will be giving away a pair of Authentic Replica Spock Ears made by visual effects artist Steve Neill from the original molds he sculpted for the ears worn by Leonard Nimoy in the film Star Trek: The Motion Picture! Steve shows you the ears here. They come with a certificate of authenticity, signed by Steve, as shown by last year's winner, Brandon Cowles, who put his in a nifty shadow box.
