Kevin C. Neece is the author of the Gospel According to Star Trek: The Original Crew (Cascade Books) and a speaker on media, the arts, and pop culture from a progressive Christian Humanist worldview perspective.
Kevin is the producer and host of The Gospel According to Star Trek Podcast, interviewing such diverse guests as author and activist Blair Imani, the production team for the Nichelle Nichols documentary Woman in Motion, and writer, speaker, and podcaster Subspace Sue.
He co-edited his most recent book, Rags and Bones: An Exploration of The Band, with Jeff Sellars. The first academic work on the iconic music group, it features Kevin's chapter on Martin Scorsese's documentary about The Band, The Last Waltz, blending scholarship in film and music, viewed through a spiritual lens.
Kevin served as a contributing editor for Imaginatio et Ratio: A Journal of Theology and the Arts and as a contributor for GIANT FREAKIN ROBOT. He is the editor of Spockology and the co-editor of Science Fiction and The Abolition of Man. His writing has appeared in numerous books and periodicals, including Light Shining in a Dark Place: Discovering Theology Through Film, New Identity Magazine, and Patheos, among others. His future projects will further explore Star Trek as well as his other areas of expertise, such as Fred Rogers and Jesus films.
